Big Sky Employee Housing

Big Sky, Montana

Project Description

Employees at Big Sky Ski Resort have been challenged to find affordable housing near their place of employment. As with many ski resorts across the country, it is often not cheap to live near the ski resort, pushing many employees to have long commutes to areas that are cheaper, or to places where there is often inclement and unpredictable weather. Big Sky is becoming an industry leader by finding ways to provide its employees with affordable housing options. In March 2023, Big Sky opened the 3 story Levinsky Lodge, a modular apartment style housing building that is walking distance to the resort.  Since the apartments were modular, construction times were greatly reduced. AE Dynamics provided services in 2 phases. Phase 1 involved developing plans for the modular units prior to construction. Phase 2 involved developing drawings that were a complete set of construction drawings for the entire building. Phase 2 drawings included foundation system, assembly details, and added site-built structural elements.
