Project Description
Located near Yellowstone National Park, the Bozeman Hot Springs has long been a local destination for rejuvenation and relaxation. What started as a simple bathhouse and plunge pool has grown through multiple renovations into a destination. It now has a fitness center, 12 hot springs pools, and is a local hub for outdoor music and gatherings. In 2022, the Hot Springs updated its aging infrastructure by constructing a new 16,000 sq ft building. The new facility houses updated locker rooms, reception area, cafe, and operational offices. The structure is comprised of primarily conventional wood framing. However, to maintain the openness and Architectural aesthetic of the central lobby/entry, steel moment frames and timber framing were required on each side of this feature element. Structural challenges included supporting significant amounts of stone both on the building façade and free-standing as part of the landscape features.
