Project Description
The original Cowles Music Building on the campus of Whitworth University in Spokane, Washington was built in 1978. It provided practice and teaching space for the Music Department. In 2016, a $13.5 million expansion project was completed, adding 21,000 sq ft to the building. The expansion included additional practice and teaching areas, as well as rehearsal, performance, and meeting rooms. Unique spaces such as the Storm Choral Rehearsal Room and the Bennett Percussion Studio boast an abundance of natural light. The Lantern, a 2nd story fully glass enclosed chamber rehearsal and small performance space, provides some of the best views on the campus.
