PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Town & Country Foods is an employee owned, Montana based grocery store chain. Known for its high quality food variety (including natural and organics), and dedication to excellent customer service, the chain has become synonymous with being a local community store with affordable prices. In order to keep up with the growing demand in Bozeman, Town & Country built the Ferguson Farm store to better serve the western portions of the city. AE Dynamics served as the structural engineer on the project, and also provided special inspection services during the building construction. The building is primarily composed of a structural steel frame supporting a bar joist and metal deck roof system.  Architecturally raised roof sections are wood truss framed.  All second floor / mezzanine spaces are structured with a primary frame of steel beams supporting wood joists and plywood sheathing.  The lateral load supporting system is composed of plywood sheathed cold formed metal stud shearwalls.  The exterior canopies and braces are constructed of heavy timber elements to create warmth and aesthetic appeal.  The building foundations are conventional concrete footings and frost walls.
